From north to south, Kolkata traffic slows down as all roads lead to Esplanade on Martyr’s Day

Even with the traffic police on their toes, many roads of the city were affected as thousands headed to the Dharmatala venue

Esplanade crossing was quite the sight as cars came to a standstill with little wiggle room as the footfall far surpassed the vehicles. From the main road crossing opposite Maidan Market all the way to the Esplanade bus stand, people poured in in large numbers
