DJ Trillah was in city, all the way from Bangalore, to play at Cheap Charlie on November 11, that made ladies’ night even more special. He played old-school and new-age hip-hop and made the night a memorable one.

Friday night at Cheap Charlie is dedicated to old-school hip-hop music and some throwback to ’90s and early 2000s pop numbers as well some retro on their setlist. Last Friday Kolkatans kick-started their weekend with some upbeat numbers played by the guest DJ like Sam Smith’s Unholy (Acraze Remix), Tiesto’s Pump It Louder, Y.M.C.A. by Village People and lots more that set the mood right.

DJ Xavier turned the oomph factor on with tracks like Drop It Like It’s Hot by Snoop Dogg, Return Of The Mack by Mark Morrison, You Can Do It by Ice Cube, among other peppy beats.

“It was very exciting to play in the City of Joy for the first time as people here know their music and it feels great to play for music lovers. My set was a mixed bag of a lot of fresh edits of the old-school tunes and the brand new chartbusters with my take on it — basically all genres from different eras. A big shout-out to the The Telegraph family. Keep appreciating music and supporting homegrown artists,” said DJ Trillah.

DJ Xavier loves playing for Kolkata. “Playing for my Kolkata peeps has always been crazy leaving me with some unforgettable memories and moments each time. Keeping in mind being tagged as the OG of hip-hop music in the city, I stick to a setlist that’d do justice to the tag,” he said.
