1/6 Celebrating Nobo Barsho, 1430, Mongol Shobhajatra organised a colourful carnival from Ganguly Bagan to Sukanta Setu in Jadavpur. Thousands of people, dressed for the occasion, took part despite the sizzling weather conditions. The artworks by Mongol Shobhajatra’s Gobeshona O Prosar Kendra, worked relentlessly to prepare the huge mascots — mechho beral or fishing cat, bulbuli, nouka and baul. The indigenous Gambhira masks of Kushmandi and Dakshin Dinajpur were prepared by artists to represent the art forms of West Bengal. Mongol Shobhajatra also projected some less popular folk music like the Jari musical troupe from Murshidabad, Hapu and Bolan musical troupe from Birbhum
