Sunidhi Chauhan Forum is all set to rock the stage at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata, at a musical evening organised by Forum for Durgotsab, a community that connects major Durga puja committees in and around Kolkata, on February 5. My Kolkata is the digital media partner for the event.
Forum for Durgotsab conducts various cultural events throughout the year alongside blood donation camps. Amitava Roy, cultural secretary, Forum for Durgotsab said, “We are the largest community that connects major Puja committees in Kolkata and adjoining areas. Durga Puja is our main festival but we also have several pro-people events throughout the year. We have had the largest blood donation camp recently. Cultural programmes are held occasionally. This annual musical concert is a major fundraiser to support us in various activities for the society.”
The concert will also pay tribute to singer KK, who passed away in Kolkata in May 2022. Singers Sujoy Bhowmik and Amrita Manjlis will sing several of KK’s hits.
“We had earlier planned to approach KK for the show but unfortunately he is no more with us. Nonetheless, this year we will pay a grand tribute to him,” said Amitava Roy, cultural secretary, Forum for Durgotsab.
The forum had hosted a musical evening with Sonu Nigam last year and Shreya Ghoshal had performed at the forum’s concert in 2018.
“People of the city wait eagerly for our annual concerts, which have gained huge popularity over the years. We are waiting eagerly for Sunidhi Chauhan's live concert and are sure that it will be a memorable evening for all,” said Roy.
