To celebrate and add excitement to the cricket fever gripping the city during the ongoing men’s ODI Cricket World Cup, Calcutta Club Limited organised the Cricket and World Cup Intra-Club Quiz in association with The Telegraph at the club’s Centenary Hall last month. It was participated by teams of three formed by members, spouses and dependants. The engagement level for the quiz was high both among participants and a very passionate and knowledgeable audience, with very few questions going back unanswered to quizmaster Gautam Ghosh. Former cricketers Sambaran Banerjee and Saradindu Mukherjee graced the occasion as chief guests and gave away the prizes to podium finishers and mementoes to other participants.
The club’s chairman - sports, IT and stock purchase Adheep Kumar Gooptu moderated the flow of events, ably supported by Aparajita Sharma, Sohini Gooptu and Dr Romit Beed. Glimpses.
