I deposited Rs 20,000 in a regular monthly income scheme of Morepen Laboratories Limited against receipt no. CAL RM 00177N. The maturity date of this income scheme was August 10, 2003. On September 10, 2003, I sent the original receipt to the company’s corporate office in Delhi for repayment of the deposit money. However, I have not heard from them at all. I even tried calling the phone numbers the company had given. I have sent two reminders to the company’s registered office at Himachal Pradesh. What can I do now?

This is an example of sheer deficiency in service. You should approach the Consumer Fora for your relief and redressal. However, you have to approach the forum that will have jurisdiction over the place where the company has its registered office.

I had two fixed deposits with Morepen Laboratories Limited. In spite of sending back the certificates on time, I have not received the amount for the deposits that matured in 2003. I am going through a financial crisis. Kindly suggest a suitable way of recovering the amount.

This also is an example of poor service. You must find out the correct address of the company’s registered office and file a case against it in the consumer forum that has jurisdiction in the area.
