Jamshedpur, Oct. 23: The Xavier Labour Relations Institute today formally launched the “post graduate certificate in business management (PGCBM)”.
It is an effort to replicate the traditional interactive classroom environment through satellite-based management programmes in association with Hughes Escorts Communications Limited (HECL). “XLRI has started a new programme for which the students will not have to come to XLRI but the institute will go to them. This is the need of the working professionals across the country,” said B Muthuraman, managing director, Tisco, at the launch of the coursethis evening.
XLRI plans to offer certificate and other management programmes in India using the network and services of HECL, under the brand name Direcway Global Education (www.dwge.com).
The XLRI programmes would be delivered on Hughes Direcway Global Education’s interactive learning platform. The heart of the platform is a powerful user interface that enables a large number of participants at different places, sitting in their respective classrooms, to have an interactive exchange with the instructor, who speaks from a centrally located studio. The system incorporates live broadcast video, two way audio and date interactivity to enable the student to interact with the instructor.
