Jamshedpur, Nov. 3: Tata Steel is observing a week-long Vigilance Awareness Week to inculcate the importance of vigilance in its employees.
The programme, launched by Tata Steel managing director, B. Muthuraman, started from November 1 and will continue till November 6.
According to company officials, the programme aims at creating awareness among the employees as vigilance is a vital aspect of a healthy and growing organisation.
As a part of the awareness week celebration, a 30-minute play Chetna was staged today at Steelenium Hall. The play gave the message to the employees to keep up the values of Tatas.
Addressing the gathering, Muthuraman said the reason for Tata Steel?s excellence and growth is honesty, integrity and transparency. He added that the company will grow in future but only on the basis of its ethics and values.
Muthuraman said the company?s vigilance cases will be placed on the intranet and the culprits would be punished.
President of Tata Workers? Union R.B.B. Singh said the vigilance week should be made an annual programme as this would help strengthen the company?s foundation.
Senior officials of the company including T. Mukherjee, deputy managing director (steel), A.N. Singh, deputy managing director (corporate services) were also present at the function.?
