Raipur, Oct. 7: Firebrand Bharatiya Jana Shakti president Uma Bharti loves to be referred to as the “king” (and not the queen) in the political fraternity.
“Which ever party this didi (Uma to herself) goes to, she will live like the king,” said Bharti, while addressing a public meeting here yesterday evening. Her words send a clear message to her former party, the BJP, that she would return only as the “king” and at the top.
Applying a brake to the increasing rumours of her return, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister said: “Some people (BJP) are propagating my return to the party, as the polls are ensuing and the (BJP) leaders know that only Uma can change the BJP stride.”
“I have built the BJS and would be a part of it like a king is to his kingdom,” she added.
For the “Hindutva queen”, gender has never been a problem. She has always tackled her male colleagues with elan. .
While dubbing herself as the “king” of her “kingdom”, Uma successfully sent an overt signal — that she would not compromise and remain a second-line politician in the fraternity.
“I am not a building labourer who is ousted once the construction of the house is completed,” she screamed.
Bharti, who drove the BJP to power in Madhya Pradesh in the last state polls, is hopeful of replaying some old magic. She also wishes to form the government under the banner of her new political outfit.
“We will form the government in Madhya Pradesh in the political battle field,” she fired.
Though Bharti castigated Raman Singh government for its alleged corruption and misrule, she admitted that BJP would receive help from the BJS in both Chhattisgarh and in Rajasthan.
She added that the BJP was not in the position to put up a fight to stop Congress from making the government in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
“It would be my party that will counter (the Congress) in both the states and help the BJP at last,” she summed up.
