Mini-truck Tata Ace crosses 20-lakh in sales

POWER STEERING: Tata Motors received the National Energy Conservation Award- 2017 for its Jamshedpur plant from President Ram Nath Kovind in New Delhi on December 14, National Energy Conservation Day. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency, under Union ministry of power, awarded Tata Motors the first prize in automotive (manufacturing) sector. Mini-truck Tata Ace crosses 20-lakh in sales 

India’s leading  mini truck Tata Ace from Tata Motors crossed the milestone of 20 lakh vehicle sales on December 20. Leading the market with a 65 per cent market share, Tata Ace, known as Chhota Hathi across India, has proven to be the most versatile small commercial vehicle in the industry since its launch in May 2005. The vehicle with its numerous customized variants has become an integral part  of rural and urban areas as a trusted business partner especially of small businesses

Direct selling FMCG company Amway India achieved another milestone with Amway Queen, its premium cookware range, crossing sales of Rs 100 crore within a record time of 10 months. The announcement was made by the company on December 14. "Over the last few years, widening of the product basket has been a key strategic area for Amway India to spur growth. The cookware range was specially created to cater to the niche segment of premium cookware in India which is seeing traction with young India's preference towards the wellness quotient of products and rapidly growing awareness about nutritional requirements," Sundip Shah, Amway India chief marketing officer, said

Mutual funds

Equity investments contribute about 72 per cent of overall asset under management, and Kotak Mutual Fund (KMF) that operates from three locations in the state supported by over 1,200 channel partners recommends systematic investment plan (SIP) for investors to create wealth. Manish Mehta, KMF national head for sales and distribution alliances, said this during an interaction with the media in Ranchi on December 22. The mutual funds firm has also taken initiatives to educate investors on creating wealth using SIP, he said

Duo steel show 

Subhra Dhara and Somnath Kumar of Research and Development Centre for Iron and Steel (RDCIS) of SAIL at Ranchi, were awarded the Dr M Visvesvaraya Award 2017 of the Institute of Engineers (India) for their research paper ‘Sustainability of steel in transition to a low carbon economy’. The award was handed over to the duo in Chennai on December 21

Digital village 

The Bero branch of Uco Bank adopted Lamkana village under Ita panchayat in Ranchi to develop it into a digital village and held a camp there on December 20 to create digital awareness. Inaugurated by the bank’s deputy general manager R.B. Sahay, the camp briefed villagers on debit and credit cards and netbanking. Bank officials said they would give point-of-sale (PoS) machines to shopkeepers to help bring the village on the digital banking map
