Jamshedpur, April 16: For those without memberships to elite clubs in the city, the G-Town Club will soon have a swimming pool ready to splash into during the coming hot summer months, if the plans made by authorities at Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company (Jusco) fall into place.

“At present, there are four swimming pools in the city at other elite clubs, which are only open to the club members. At this pool we want to provide the same facilities to people from the mid-management level and others,” said a senior official at Jusco.

Though constructed at the premises of G-Town club, the swimming pool is a project undertaken by Tata Steel and executed by Jusco.

While an Olympic size swimming pool was inaugurated recently at JRD Tata Sports Complex, this one is smaller in size but with all the required facilities,” said Rajesh Rajan, secretary of G- Town club. Though Jusco officials want this pool to be open to the common masses, the club authorities are still somewhat reluctant to commit on the issue. “Tata Steel would soon take a decision on the new norms and regulations for the pool at JRD Tata Sports Complex and it’s only afterwards we would get to know what would be the entry policies,” added Rajan.

Built over an area of 25X16 metre, this pool has been designed keeping in view all modern facilities. Apart from that there would also be few rooms, a lounge area and facilities for sauna. For the children, there will be a side pool.

“Ours would be the first where every amenities would be provided for all,” added Rajan.
