Jamshedpur, July 21: The two collection centres for B.Ed forms at the Ranchi university branch office in Bistupur proved to be inadequate as several students from in and around the city turned up in high numbers.

The sale of B.Ed forms, which began this weekend, would end on July 25 and has so far witnessed an unprecedented rush in the sale of forms. ?We have collected around 1,000 forms since morning,? said Usha Shukla, deputy coordinator Ranchi University branch office.

The university offers 1,000 seats in 10 colleges across the state, out of which three are in Jamshedpur catering to 300 students. ?So far, the Jamshedpur office alone has sold about 2,500 forms for general category and 850 and 1,800 for the SC/ST and the OBC, respectively? Shukla added.

In this rush for submission and sale of forms, the students said they had a tough time.

Priti Kumari, a teacher at IISCO middle school in Gua was waiting at the centre since 8 am.

?I have been able to collect the form but I don?t think I will be able to submit it today,? said Priti who travelled for over eight hours to reach the city.

Alice Kandayong and her friends who had come all the way from Chakardharpur said: ?The timing was not specified and we had to wait for long. The university should have made provisions for more centres across the state.? Given the rush, the university authorities may contemplate an extension of submission dates.
