Ranchi, Feb. 4: Hrithik Roshan was there. And so were Tusshar Kapoor and Esha Deol. Komolika of the Kyunki… Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi fame, too, made her presence felt.

All right, the stars were not present physically, but their look-alike cast a spell on students at one of the farewell programmes in the capital.

At a time when farewell is the flavour of the season, students are devising novel ways to bid their seniors a goodbye.

A series of farewell programmes are being organised in the capital at various educational institutions, barely a month before board exams. The exam preparations notwithstanding, the students are making attempts to make the last day of their seniors in school a memorable occasion .

With moist eyes and choked voices, the passing out batch greeted their peers and juniors wished them well in life with hopes and prayers that each one would fare well in life.

While some plan a number of programmes for the outgoing students, others decided to keep it a low profile take as yet another day in school.

Two major educational institutions, St Xavier’s School and Loreto Convent celebrated the event with pomp and show yesterday, which was attended by the outgoing students of the institutions.

St. Xavier’s ,with a few cultural programmes organised for the occasion, was successful in giving a warm farewell to its students.

Loreto Convent organised a Jollywood Award Ceremony where in the students of class IX dressed up as popular Bollywood and small screen celebrities and performed their specialised dance numbers and dialogues that enthralled the audience with laughter.

“Outgoing students were given titles like Miss Queen of Hearts, Miss Cool, Miss Chill Pill, jawaan dilon ki dhadkan and Miss Curls, which were attribute to them according to their personalities. The seniors, most of them attired in black, stole the hearts of many,” said Trinaa Prasad, student of class IX of Loreto Convent.

Various other institutions like Surendranath Centenary School, Delhi Public School and Bishop Westcott are yet to organise farewell programmes for their students.
