Jamshedpur, Nov. 2: The premier of the Santhali film, “Saguna Ena Suhag Dulare (The victory of true love)” at Rajendra Auditorium today was star-studded event with JMM chief Sibu Soren among the audience.

The JMM chief lauded the efforts of the producer in promoting tribal culture. “This film will generate awareness about tribal culture in the urban areas,” he said.

Soren said he would request the government to take steps to encourage artists to make more films on tribal culture and traditions. “Other wise under the onslaught of urbanisation tribal culture will be wiped off,” he added.

Dashrath Hansda, the hero and director of the film, said the story revolves around Binu (played by him), girlfriend Paro and another woman, Duli, who comes between the two lovers and tries to create trouble.

The couple fight against all odds and convince their family members and society for their marriage.

The role of Paro and Duli was performed by Mohini Hansda and Protima Soren respectively. Both the actresses are from the steel city and have made their first appearance on the silver screen. Music director of the film is Parash Nath Kalindi said he was pleased with the overwhelming response to the premiere show.

Ramdas, the producer of the film, said he would announce the launch of another Santhali film.

“I loved the film. Why can’t producers make more such films on tribal way of life. Dashrath was superb. He is an excellent actor. The music was melodious. I will see the film again,” said Suresh Munda.
