
Jamshedpur, Jan. 28: Tarapore School (Agrico) defeated Kerala Public School (Kadma) 3-0 in the final to win the Jamshedpur Old Girls' and Guys' Association (Jogga) senior boys' inter-school football title at JRD Tata Sports Complex today.
Tarapore boys maintained a vice-like grip over the proceedings and never allowed any leeway to their hapless opponents before sealing a confident win.
The champion outfit sailed into the summit clash by posting a 1-0 over win over J.H. Tarapore School (Dhatkidih) in the semi-finals while KPS (Kadma) beat Chinmaya Vidyalaya in the other last two clash.
Uttam Singh, chief (blast furnace), Tata Steel, handed over the trophy to the winning team in presence of Jogga president Srimanti Sen, promoter Firoz Khan and games teachers of respective schools.
Champions in the Jogga junior boys football championship Kerala Public School (Gamharia) also received the trophy.
The outfit had posted a 1-0 win over SDSM School for Excellence in the finals staged at the same venue on January 25.
Khan said the Jogga events for 2016-17 calendar have come to an end with football and they would shortly fix fresh dates for the events for 2017-18.
Jogga sports is the most sought-after events among Jamshedpur schools.
