Jamshedpur, Feb. 5: If you think you're missing out on opportunities to showcase your talents in a small place like Baharagora, think twice.

The small East Singhbhum town is all set to provide the rural youths, not only from Jharkhand but neighbouring Bengal and Odisha too, such a platform in form of Lakshya - a three-day festival to be held in Baharagora stadium in March. The final dates are yet to be decided.

From talent hunts in dancing and singing to Bengali and Santhali theatre and music concerts, from quiz to leadership workshops, the town will witness it all for the first time under one roof. Besides, football and activities for girls like cooking and rangoli will also be part of the festival to be organised by JMM's Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi.

The MLA said his team would send invitations to high schools and colleges in Baharagora and its neighbouring places across the three states for the students to participate in the cultural activities.

Apart from being his constituency, the MLA said he decided to organise Lakshya in Baharagora as the place shared its borders with Bengal and Odisha.

"Baharagora is like a confluence of three states. So it is an ideal place to organise a fest like this on the lines of big cities. The fest aims to promote the small town and give some exposure to the youths of my constituency and neighbouring states," said Sarangi.

"The sports and cultural activities will help the youth develop their personality and confidence. We named the fest Lakshya, which means aim, as we want our youths to find their goals in life. If you have clarity in your targets, it's easy to achieve it. We are trying hard to make this maiden programme a success with loads of events that the constituency has never seen. There will be engagement opportunities with some super achievers of national and international repute as well," added Sarangi.

He is in talk with entrepreneurs, businessmen, sportspersons, social activists and politicians to attend the programme and interact with the participants. Sarangi believes that interactions with eminent persons would motivate youths to dream big in life.
