Jamshedpur, Jan. 20: Strengthening the Sangh Parivar base in the state is likely to top the agenda for the week-long RSS convention, slated to begin here from January 23.

Senior functionaries from 35 RSS units of the state would attend the convention. The national sar karwah (general secretary) of RSS, Mohanji Bhagwat, would also be present.

“There will be no political discussion during the convention. Bhagwat will meet RSS cadre of different sakas and suggest ways to improve their functioning,” state RSS chief Mukund Pradhan told The Telegraph.

“Bhagwat will meet RSS workers and top functionaries of the state VHP unit and suggest ways to increase their support base in rural areas,” sources said.

“For us the forthcoming meeting is an important one since both the Lok Sabha and state Assembly elections are not too far of. BJP is the main partner in the coalition government in the state. Sangh Parivar has to ensure that the party continues to remain ahead in the polls,”a senior RSS functionary said.
