Hazaribagh: Chief minister Raghubar Das on Saturday said his government would give a grant of Rs 200 crore to develop Ma Chhinnamastika temple in Rajrappa, Ramgarh district, on the lines of the famed Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra's Trikuta mountains in Jammu and Kashmir.
Visiting Ramgarh on his way to Gumla on Saturday, the chief minister also said his government would pump in Rs 2,000 crore to develop religious and cultural tourist spots across the state, such as Lugu Buru hill in Lalpania of Bokaro, Aanjandham in Gumla, Ma Bhadrakali temple in Itkhori of Chatra and Parasnath hills in Giridih.
"Once done, Jharkhand will be on the international tourist map," he said.
On his ambitious plan to develop Ma Chhinnamastika temple, Das said about 500 to 600 shops in the vicinity would have to be shifted and a new bus stand built. He urged shopkeepers to cooperate with this plan. He asked officials to ready a detailed project report for development and beautification of this temple.
He added that an overhaul of tourist spots would change the economy of those areas and give more jobs to youths.
Das said his government was focussing on industry, agriculture and tourism for a new Jharkhand by 2022. "The government is working every day in this regard and changes have started reflecting on the ground," he said.
Others in the meeting included minister and Ramgarh MLA C.P. Choudhary, chief secretary Rajbala Verma, tourism secretary Rahul Sharma, Ramgarh DC B. Rajeshwari and SP Kishore Kaushal.
