Reliance gift for mobile users

Ranchi, July 1: Reliance Telecom has lined up a slew of sops for subscribers.

It will offer the cheapest ISD rates to post-paid subscribers in Jharkhand from July 3. The telecom major, with nearly 85,000 subscribers in the state, has also decided to slash call tariff, besides offering several other sops.

Reliance officials said the ISD rates for post-paid subscribers will become Rs 17 per minute, including airtime, from July 3. Pre-paid subscribers will have to pay airtime besides the ISD rates. The new ISD rates is cheaper than the BSNL basic telephones rate of Rs 24 per minute.

The STD rates from Reliance Telecom to any mobile in the country will be Rs 3 per minute including airtime, while it will be Rs 4.50 for calls to landline numbers, including airtime, officials said.

The new post-paid monthly plan charges and call rates will also become cheaper from July 3. The new monthly rate of “Talk Light” plan is Rs 249, “Talk Medium” Rs 349 and “Talk More” Rs 599. The new rates are Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 400 respectively less than the prevailing rates, officials said.

Call rates will become as low as Re 1 depending on the monthly scheme while the roaming rental will be slashed to Rs 49, they added.

The cellular company will soon launch full zonal roaming facility where subscribers will be able to make outgoing calls while roaming. This service will enable subscribers to make outgoing calls in Reliance circles without activating roaming in their home circles. Reliance Teleom operates in Bihar,West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and Jharkand.

The company will also introduce the outgoing SMS in roaming, an official said. Re-charging while roaming has already become functional, he said. Subscribers can roam all over India and recharge their Smart Cards from any location by dialling 98351 98401 and 98351 98402.

“Calls to these numbers are chargeable, but users can also know their balance amount by dialling these numbers. If a user is not carrying recharge coupons while availing roaming services, he can get his card recharged with the help of a friend or relative in his home circle,” officials said.

The company will introduce recharge coupons of Rs 200 from July 3, especially for transit users. The coupon will have a validity period of 20 days with a grace period of 15 days. The coupon will carry a call time of Rs 83, an official said.
