Bhubaneswar, Sept. 2: The state government has promoted nine IAS officers of the Orissa cadre to the rank of commissioner-cum-secretary and four senior IAS officers to the rank of chief secretary.

Principal secretary in the excise and industries department Ajit Kumar Tripathy and agricultural production commissioner Gautam Buddha Mukherjee have been promoted to the post of chief secretary. Additional secretary in the Union forest and environment ministry Meena Gupta and additional secretary in the Union food and consumer welfare ministry D.N. Padhi have also been promoted to the post of chief secretary.

C.J. Venugopal, Swapneswar Baya, Manoranjan Saran, Suresh Chandra Patnaik, Dandanirodh Mishra, Niranjan Jali, K.C. Badu, Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra and Parag Gupta have been promoted to the post of commissioner-cum-secretary.
