Jamshedpur, Dec. 26: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) today started a 24- hour yagna at Ghorabanda for the early release of Shibu Soren.

An all-religion prayer session was also organised.

Soren is at present serving a life term in Tihar Jail in Delhi for killing his private secretary Sashi Nath Jha.

“We are sure Guruji has been falsely implicated in the murder of his private secretary. He is a very kind-hearted man,” said Raju Giri, the general secretary of the JMM central committee.

Ramdas Soren, the organiser of the yagna, echoed his sentiments.

“After this yagna, those conspiring against Guruji and the party will be punished by God,” said Soren.

Leader of the JMM in the Assembly, Champai Soren, said the party leaders would soon meet President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and brief him about the humane nature of Guruji.

They will also hand over a 60 m banner as evidence of the signature drive through which the residents of Jharkhand have reposed faith in their Guruji.
