Jamshedpur, Nov. 7: Police today attached the movable property of Vikram Sharma, the alleged strategist of Akhilesh Singh’s gang, from his apartment near Dimna.

Household items, including nine air-conditioners, furniture, ceiling and pedestal fans, utensils, mattresses and crockery were requisitioned from his house which were later dumped at MGM police station.

There was no one present at the flat when police arrived with a warrant of attachment. The sleuths broke open the lock of the apartment.

Sakchi police recently obtained the warrant of attachment from court of chief judicial magistrate P.K. Maitra against a case of firing at the Kasidih residence of criminal Ravi Chaurasia in March this year. Both Akhilesh Singh and Vikram Sharma are accused in the case. The two are absconding.

Police are conducting raids at different cities across the country to arrest the duo.

Sharma, who had earlier joined a regional political outfit, allegedly played the role of a strategist for a number of criminal acts carried out by Singh and his gang.

“He provides all the information to Singh and also hatches plan for the gang. If we arrest him we can get through to Akhilesh Singh who is wanted in a number of case. He is a vital link for Singh as far as his operations in the city is concerned,” a source said.

Two days ago, the police arrested six persons of Singh’s gang and seized arms and ammunition from them.

Officer in charge of MGM Police station Sudhir Prasad said the attachment was done by Sakchi police station. “The MGM police was involved in the attachment since Sharma’s residential flat falls under the jurisdiction of our police station,” he said.
