Jamshedpur, March 20: After New York, it is the turn of the Steel City for the Perfect Date.
The brainchild of city lad, Chandradev Bhagat, who made his debut in the world of cinema with this 10-minute film, this short movie is all set to earn accolades when it is screened at the 11th Jamshedpur International Film Festival tomorrow.
Chandradev, fondly called Captain by his friends, made his debut film as a part of his project at the New York University, where he completed a three-month course on filmmaking last year.
The Perfect Date, an exquisite movie because of the use of symbolism, presents a slice of life dealing sensitively with the issue of a young couple struggling to arrange for that elusive perfect date amid hectic schedules.
The movie was chosen as one of the best movies to be made by any student of the school at the New York University.
Passionate about cinema from a very tender age, Chandradev finished his schooling from Loyola School after which he went to St. Stephen?s College in Delhi to obtain bachelor degree in economics. A short course in computer application and he was ready to take on the world with his first job in Trans World International (TWI), based at Mumbai. Later, he went to Dubai and joined Ten Sports as a producer.
But his journey to know more about cinema took him to New York University. A keen student of the art of filmmaking, Chandradev came out with flying colours and his first brush with the camera earned him huge accolades.
To add to the perfect picturesque, the multi-talented youngster is also an award-winning photographer. And the son of renowned Jamshedpur-based photographer Bhudev.
Chandradev won the second prize at the National Photography Contest at the age of eight and went on to bag the first prize at the National Photography Contest organised by the ministry of information and broadcasting in association with Unicef.
?He was always fascinated by cinema, but we never thought he would turn into a filmmaker,? said a proud father.
