Hazaribagh, March 30: A high-level meeting of the police and the administrative officials was held today to discuss the law and order situation here before Ram Navami.
The officials, including DC Arun Kumar Singh and superintendent of police Neeraj Sinha chalked out a strategy to check the activities of extremists in the district. The meeting was held at the Town Hall, where several important decisions were taken.
According to sources, the meeting was mainly focused on Ram Navami celebrations. The officials were instructed to ensure a peaceful puja as Hazaribagh is a “sensitive place”, where a minor incident could lead to a communal clash. The officials said any negligence or lack of co-ordination would make it difficult for the police to control the mob if the situation goes out of hand. Certain decisions were taken by the officials at the meeting for a peaceful puja.
Sources said the officials have decided to record the procession that would be taken out that day so that hooligans could be identified. All the small and big vehicles entering the town would be checked.
