TT: How successful has the DOX journey been since its inception in 2005?

Jain: The DOX family is a growing one. Every year, nearly 150 alumni from St Xavier’s School, Ranchi, join DOX. We started with 40 members and now we are 1,500 and counting. DOX has chapters in the US, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi

Union minister Jairam Ramesh attended St Xavier’s School, Ranchi, between 1961 and 1963 (Classes III-V). Have you approached him for DOX?

Yes, we did, when he visited St Xavier’s School on December 25, 2014, and met school principal Father Ajit Xess. Hopefully, he will approach us very soon

What defines DOX?

Our motto, which is giving back to the society

How do you foster togetherness among alumni members separated by generations?

We try our best to link all ex-students with the school by hosting activities. Recently, we started DOX Funday Sunday, where registered DOX members meet informally on Sunday mornings with family members

How does a DOX membership help ex-students?

It helps an alumnus get and stay in touch with school and school friends, entitles him to participate in all DOX activities, including the annual dinner and ball, the AGM and seminars in India and abroad

How does the senior generation of DOX help out its younger members?

We are an offline social interworking group! So, we help out members by scouting job opportunities and placements through DOX chapters across India and abroad

How you stay connected with all DOX members?

The tech revolution has helped us. Facebook and Yahoo Groups are a great help

Name some of your activities within the school.

We host an annual prize distribution event for subject toppers, a carnival, career counselling and inter-school co-curricular activities

Who is the oldest ‘old boy’ of DOX?

Our oldest living member is Col G.S. Prasad of the 1966 batch, who’s very active and very involved

Where is DOX headed?

We’d like DOX members who are high up in corporate or academic worlds to help recent pass-outs in gaining admission to good colleges, and later, finding jobs
