The third floor will boast a gym, recreation hall, TV room and barracks. There are eight washrooms on each floor.

OC S.N. Mandal said the shift was expected to happen before the state foundation day on November 15. "The building is almost complete. Just the final touch is being given. We are waiting for the announcement of the shifting date," Mandal said.

K.S. Meena, chairman of Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation Limited (JPHCL) that has constructed the building, said, "We hope its inauguration will take place by or before November 15."

Divulging more details, JPHCL executive engineer Suresh Kumar said the new police station - the first one to be constructed by the JPHCL in the city - had been developed over a 1,000-square-meter area.

"Earlier, we had renovated Argora, Jagannathpur, Lalpur, Lower Bazar, Kanke, Namkum and Chutia police stations. After this, we will begin the construction of a new police building at Doranda," Kumar added.
