Ranchi, Aug. 22: It is a long awaited recognition for the teachers of Jharkhand. The names of the four teachers from the state have been recommended for the national award.
The teachers will be felicitated by the president of India APJ Abdul Kalam at New Delhi on September 5.
Two primary teachers and two middle teachers have been selected from the state for the award.
The teachers whose names have been recommended are primary school teacher, Shankar Sahu of Daltonganj, middle school teacher, Basadih Churchu, Hazaribagh, Vijay Kumar, principal of Netarhat School, Vinod Karn and the in-charge of Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav High school in Kokar, Ranchi, Khalil Alam.
The criterion of selection for the award is that a teacher should be active in social activities. They should also play a pivotal role in improving the school results.
