Jamshedpur, Oct. 9: Music director Anu Mallik, singer Shreya Ghosal and KK will rock the city on Sunday.
The stage is set for a musical night, which will be organised by the Mumbai-based Sai Sapney Entertainment, at Keenan Stadium.
The organisers said the earnings from the show would be used to spread AIDS awareness. The group plans to set up clinics where HIV positive patients can get psychological and medical assistance. Pabitra Bhatarcharya of Sai Sapney Entertainment said artists from Mumbai who are expected to perform during the show include actress Kashmira Shah and Sai Deohar.
He said the company had conducted the talent-hunt contest and finalised the list of artists who would perform with the Mumbai stars. More than 20 artists of the steel city, which includes four male and four female singers, have been selected to perform on the final day.
Creative director of the show Vikram Aditya Bapat said local artists will be given an hour to entertain the crowd.
Comedian M.M. Faruki — popularly known as Lillitput — who was the judge during the talent-hunt contest, would perform on Sunday. He said artists of the city were gifted but needed a platform to showcase their talent. He hoped that the event would give them an opportunity to do so.
Lillitput said he was busy shooting for an untitled Hindi flick and a Bhojpuri film called Kahen Basuria Bajawala.
Impressed by the talent of the local artists, he said he was planning to shoot the film in the city so that they get a chance to perform in the film. “This will give them the much-needed exposure of the film world which is the dream of every artist,” he said.
The event manager of the show, Vineta Sah, said that they plan to sell 12,000 entry passes for the programme. The entry fees for which will be Rs 200, 400 and 600. They will also give away complimentary passes to the sponsors and donors.
