Ranchi, June 22: Chief minister Arjun Munda today approved the promotions of 24 Jharkhand Police Service officers.
While the promotion of one officer to the rank of SP was approved, eight others were elevated to the rank of ASP. Apart from this Munda promoted 15 other officers to the rank of senior DSP.
Categorically stating that the promotions of police officers should not be held up for laxity on parts of certain officials, Munda directed all the departments to dispose all pending cases within two months.
“The orders passed by the Supreme Court in the Janki Raman case should be executed in toto. If character report of officers are not available then their promotions should be considered on the basis of their interim curriculum reports,” Munda said.
Munda also directed the chief secretary to hold regular review meeting to clear the deck of promotions for deserving candidates.
The chief minister also stressed on the needs of amending the format of vigilance clearance reports.
“A list of employees receiving clean chits from their departments should be submitted to the vigilance bureau every six months,” Munda said.
