Ranchi, Jan. 11: Despite the cold wave gripping the capital, Arjun Munda was up early today morning to tee off Green City Golf Tournament at Cockerel Ecological Park and Training Area, Dipatoli.
Nearly 196 golfers from across the country, including the former chief minister, participated in the event.
Munda was part of a four-member team comprising Jamshedpur’s veteran golfers Ranaveer Sinha and Ravi Sharma and IAS officer on special duty in Union finance ministry M.S. Bhatia, who is in city as part of the visiting team of 14th Finance Commission.
The former chief minister played 18 holes in the course. During the game, he kept meeting fellow golfers and stopped to exchange pleasantries.
Munda’s teammate Bhatia, a Jharkhand cadre IAS officer, said his work schedule did not allow him to pursue the game extensively and added that playing alongside good golfers was an indulgence.
A prize distribution ceremony would be held tomorrow after tabulation of scores.
