Ranchi, Sept. 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, slated to visit troubled Jharkhand on Gandhi Jayanti mainly to launch the Mudra bank scheme in Dumka, will at least get consolation that the state has its numbers right.

Today, state finance department principal secretary Amit Khare said they had surpassed their target under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.

"Against the target to rope in one lakh beneficiaries, we have already achieved a figure of 1,02,206. Against a target of disbursement of loan worth Rs 200 crore, the state has achieved Rs 212 crore. All banks have performed well," Khare said, adding the main beneficiaries of loan schemes were small grocers, tailors and beauty parlour owners, photocopy shop owners, vegetable vendors, people running tea/snacks stalls, fruit vendors, and the like.

Modi, fresh from his US and Ireland sojourns, may also be delighted by the traditional Santhal welcome in the state sub-capital Dumka, where tribal musical instruments bher, singa and sakwa will welcome him on stage at airport grounds, the venue of the rally with four giant pandals.

Besides the Mudra scheme, Modi will kick-start a conservation and renovation plan of Maluti's temples.

Modi will launch online the Rs 13.60 temple conservation and renovation plan to be executed by Indian Trust for Rural Heritage and Development. Of the Rs 13.60 crore, Rs 7 crore is for conservation and rest Rs 6.60 crore to develop the temple village.

Dumka district administration sources said the Prime Minister would also start the project to ensure free LPG connection to BPL beneficiaries.

Today, tourism secretary Avinash Kumar and chief minister's secretary Sunil Kumar Burnwal also took stock of preparations in Dumka. State officials of art and culture directorate and IT are also camping in Dumka to give final shape to preparations.

A team of Special Protection Group (SPG) led by AIG Balwan Singh today visited Ranchi and inspected security and facilities at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi where Modi would land on Friday around 10.15am.

Five minutes later, Modi will head for Khunti to inaugurate solar-powered facilities at the district court, considered the country's first. From Khunti, Modi would leave for Dumka, reaching around 1pm.
