Nawada, July 28: (PTI) Police today arrested Shrawan Singh, an accused in the Chakwai massacre case and brother of Lok Jan Shakti party MLA aruna devi, from Konchgoan village of Bihar’s Nawada district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Warsaliganj raided the village and arrested Singh, brother-in-law of history-sheeter Akhilesh Singh and wanted by police in over 50 cases of murder and dacoity, police said.

According to police, ten persons were killed at Chakwai on July 2 by suspected members of the notorious Akhilesh Singh gang in a retaliatory attack against rival Ashok Mahto’s gang.

Akhilesh is the husband of Warsaliganj MLA Aruna Devi and is presently lodged in jail.
