Jamshedpur, Sept. 14: A 35-year-old man hanged himself in his Mango residence this morning, reportedly over gambling losses.

Jitender Shaw, a father of two who worked for a construction firm, returned home late last night. Neighbours heard him quarrelling with wife Pinky over gambling losses.

In the morning, Pinky found her husband hanging from a beam. Assistant sub-inspector of police B. Tiwary said that when they reached at the spot around 8am, rigor mortis had already set in the body. “Jitender committed suicide between 1am and 3am,” he said, adding he used his wife’s sari to hang himself.

Police have sent the body to the MGM Medical College for post-mortem after registering a case of suicide.
