Ranchi, Nov. 6: Bollywood music may soon have a few notes and beats of Jharkhand as three composers of the state have silently sneaked into the tinsel town.

The tribal composers Santosh Lakra, Satish Kujur and Nishit Khalkho have bagged their second assignment in less than two month time raising the hopes of the artistes of the state.

This time they have got a nod from Anurag Basu for a full-length feature film. They had recently concluded their assignment for the film Kanhu, the footballer.

“We had given Basu a sample track of two songs. Basu has liked our heavy rhythms of mandar, nagara and dholak,” said Santosh Lakra.

The composer trio has named its team Vividha and they claim to have a variety of notes to keep the music lovers on their toes. “At the moment, we are presenting just the improvised versions of the traditional beats of Jharkhand. Let the time come and we would offer our fusion stuff as well. Initially, we just want the film producers to get used to our kind of music,” added Nishit.

The music composer said the Vividha is likely to get the order of music composition in Basu’s upcoming film, which is yet to be titled.

The trio has come back to the state capital after completing their first as- signment to spend some time together and work on new beats.

“We are also looking forward to the support of the viewers from our state and we have come to promote the film here,” said Santosh.

Kanhu, the footballer is a production of Balaji Films and it will feature Prabhat Bhattacharya, an actor from Jharkhand. Besides, Tanushree Dutta, the Jamshedpur diva, is playing the lead role in the film that also has Mithun Chakraborty.

Talking about his maiden experience, Lakra said: “Mithunda took the pain to explain us how the industry functions. He is gem of a person. It will take us some time to learn the professional nuances though we are competent enough on the music front.”
