Ranchi, March 14: People in the city are getting ready for a lazy treat.

Beanbags, that have made a debut in the state capital almost three months ago, are quite a rage at the on-going Canvas Trade Fair at Town Hall.

And it’s not only the youngsters that are floored by this trendy leather chair, beanbags have a massive fan-following amongst adults as well. Surya Bose of Lazybag says: “Lazybag was one of the first companies to bring the concept of beanbags to India. It has created a niche for itself in the metros and other cities. Ranchi, too, is catching up with this trend of comfort-sitting.”

Bose says, when the beanbag was initially introduced in the city it had made its way to almost 70 homes. This time, too, they hope to do similar business.

In the past two days, they have received over 5 bookings for home delivery while two have been sold from the fair itself.

The ultimate lazy chair is available in two sizes — the standard and the extra large —for Rs 2,100 and Rs 2,400, respectively. By making a payment of Rs 100, customers can book their beanbags and pay the balance at the time of delivery. What makes the innovative leather chair more attractive is the variety of 15 colours it is available in, along with a three-year warranty.

According to Bose, mostly families and youngsters show interest in the product.

And if you want to settle for an equally comfortable beanbag with an armrest then the bean sofa is what you should opt for. The product makes it debut in Ranchi through this fair and is gaining popularity. Though it appears to be an ordinary beanbag but when once you are seated, an armrest and backrest appear from almost nowhere.

“This has been designed for more comfort and is priced at Rs 3,600,” says Bose. Abhijeet Dey, a representative of Lazybag, says: “It has been two days since the fair’s been inaugurated and the inflow of customers was quite strong. We expect to do good business here.”
