Jamshedpur, Feb. 16: The little boy who played the key role in Aladdin and the wonderful lamp staged at DBMS English School about 20 years ago, is now all set to take the celluloid screen by storm.

Imtiaz Ali, the Alladin of the play, having canned his first feature film Socha Na Tha is a busy man today, zeroing down on the perfect launching date for his dream directorial debut.

?We had plans of releasing the film this weekend, February 18, all over India including Jamshedpur but we have extended the release by a week owing to the examination schedule,? Imtiaz told The Telegraph.

He elaborated that his first feature film is targeted for the youth so the dates of the release have to be chalked out very carefully. Payal cinema will release the film on February 25. ?Jamshedpur was where I experimented with theatre initially and that helped me a lot to get a pulse of the city. I am positive about the response that I will get from the denizens here,? he said.

Imtiaz?s film Socha Na Tha is a love story. ?But with plenty of on-the-edge excitement in store for the viewers. Undoubtedly, it has its share of drama, romance, songs and dance but nevertheless it falls in the category of a different and a fresh film,? Imtiaz revealed.

He had in the past donned the director?s cap for serials like Imtihaan and talk show Purushetra. He had even lent his expertise for serials like Rishtey and Bestsellers. Produced by Dharmendra?s production house, Vijayta Films, the feature film has been scripted by Imtiaz himself, the music is given by Sandesh Shandilya and the lyrics by Irsahd Kamil and Subrat Sinha.

?The choreography has been done by Ashley Lobo and that is something that the audience could watch out for,? Imtiaz said.
