Jamshedpur, June 30: The court of fast-track V, A.K. Arya today sentenced Harish Arora to rigorous life imprisonment after finding him guilty in the transporter Ashok Sharma murder case.

Arora was the informant in that murder case.

The police had in September 1998 registered a case of murder and conspiracy against one Nandu Balakrishnan in the FIR lodged with the Bistupur police station by Harish Arora. The police failed to come to a conclusion in the case.

Later, the case was taken up by the Criminal Investigation Department, which turned the informant into the conspirator of the murder.

On June 27, the court had convicted Arora, while acquitting two other accused, Vikram Sharma and Bijay Singh alias Mantu by giving them benefit of doubt.

The accused Harish Arora conspired the murder of Ashok Sharma to grab his property. The accused also had an illicit relation with Madhu Sharma, wife of the deceased.

Arora, who is in Sakchi Jail since his arrest in 2002, said he would appeal in the high court.
