A low pressure trough triggered by a western disturbance passing through northern parts of the country resulted in light rain in isolated parts of Jharkhand on Sunday. The trough was running from eastern Bihar to east Vidarbha across Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh at 0.9 Km above the mean sea level.

Weathermen said most districts in north-eastern, central and southern Jharkhand on Sunday woke up to overcast condition with several places experiencing light showers. "Weather condition is expected to improve from Monday," said a duty officer at Ranchi Met Centre.

The Ranchi Met Centre also predicted fall in minimum temperature by two to three degree Celsius in next 48 hours.

Weathermen said a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan region from the night of February 21.

Under its influence, an induced cyclonic circulation is likely to form over southwest Rajasthan around February 22. The cyclonic circulation is expected to trigger light to moderate rain on February 24 and 25.
