Jamshedpur: A 40-year-old resident of Dibri village under Jadugora police station of Ghatshila sub-division was injured when two unidentified persons opened fire on him near his house on Tuesday evening. The assailants fired a single shot before fleeing from the spot. The reasons for the attack could not be ascertained. ccording to police, Ramesh Hembram was sent to Tata Main Hospital for treatment. Doctors said he was out of danger.

Seized

Jamshedpur: Acting on a tip-off, forest ranger of Moina Arvind Kumar Diwakar on Tuesday seized nine dumpers near Dubil village of Manoharpur block in West Singhbhum district while they were loading iron ore illegally. The dumpers, which were bound for crushers in Jamda in Orissa, will be handed over to Manoharpur police station.

Review

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Himani Pande held the monthly revenue meeting of different administrative departments at the district collectorate on Tuesday. Almost all the departments in the rural areas failed to meet the target for the month of October and were asked to perk up their collection figures.

Protest

Jamshedpur: Members of Aituc on Tuesday staged a dharna in front of the district collectorate in protest against rise in fuel prices. The workers, who were squatting on the main road, were forcibly lifted by the Bistupur police officers who took them under preventive custody. They were later released.

Elections

Jamshedpur: Elections for Telco Cooperative Society Limited will be held on December 21 at Old Spare Parts Building in Telco.
