
Dhanbad residents can now dial or log in to get hassle-free intercity commuting.
For, a new cab service - WOW Taxi - was launched on Tuesday that will offer both intra-city and intercity ride to places such as Ranchi, Patna, Jamshedpur, Asansol, Durgapur, Calcutta and even Delhi. The cabs can be booked by calling on 0326-6555556 or logging in to www.wowtaxi.in.
Though there already are three cab services - Ola, Amazing Taxi and 4G - in Dhanbad but what makes WOW Taxi different is its offer for intercity ride.
WOW Taxi, launched by a pharmaceutical company director Rajeev Ranjan and a news portal owner Navneet Naman, currently has a fleet of 10 cars including Eon, Beat, Alto, Swift, Wagon R, Desire, which was formally launched at Housing Colony area in the presence of octogenarian journalist Bankhandi Mishra, who was the chief guest for the occasion.
"The biggest advantage of our service over others is that no waiting fee will be levied, which is charged by other companies. The base price will be Rs 39 for the first three kilometres and Rs 10 for further journey. The rate for intercity ride is Rs 8 per kilometre," said Naman.
He said they were planning to launch self-ride services in the future.
"Self-ride option will be available only when the customers want to drive out Dhanbad. They will have to submit some necessary documents before hiring a car on rent," he added.
Talking about various concessions, Naman said regular customers would get 10km of free ride on their birthdays or wedding anniversaries.
"Students of Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad, would be charged Rs 9 per kilometre. Customers can also earn points through frequent rides. One point will be awarded for each Rs 100 ride. Ten kilometres of free ride would be given to customers with 100 points," he said.
Various other offers would be rolled out during Durga Puja and for companies hiring cabs in bulk.
Naman said the number of cars would soon be increased depending on the response.
