IFCI boss in growth talk

Ranchi, Aug. 12: Chairman and managing director (CMD) of the Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI) V.P. Singh will visit Ranchi on August 14.

Accompanied by general manager, Calcutta region, A.K. Das, Singh will discuss issues on industrial and tourism development with Governor Ved Prakash Marwah, chief minister Arjun Munda, industry minister Ravindra Rai and senior officials.

An IFCI release said Jharkhand has immense potential for industrialisation. The corporation has financed Rs 1,800 million towards 40 projects in the state.

“IFCI proposes to help Jharkhand by acting as an industrial development body focussed on the development of the state as a major industrial zone. It also proposes to conduct feasibility studies followed by infrastructure development advisory, advisory services to corporate sectors and entrepreneurs, corporate restructuring advisory and facilitating foreign investments in the state,” the release added.
