Ranchi, Sept. 15: The general body meeting of Jharkhand Women’s Hockey Association was held on Sunday

The meeting presided over by association chairman U.N. Singh. Singh expressed concern over the deteriorating performance of the girls, especially at the senior-level. Association general secretary Savitri Putri presented the annual report. Treasurer Suresh Kumar presented the audited balance sheets of the association. The general body expressed concerned over the meagre funds flow and admitted that the goals can not be achieved unless adequate funds were provided. Bokaro deputy superintendent of police Rameshwar Oraon gave suggestions to improve the financial health of the association. He proposed that since the sports minister has announced the state championship matches in Latehar, the minister may be asked to announce the dates soon to make the necessary arrangements.

Case transfer

As many as 76 cases have been transferred from the court of Ranchi-based special CBI judge D.K. Lal to Dhanbad-based CBI special court, reports our correspondent.

The action has been taken following a Jharkhand High Court direction. According to the directives, CBI cases of Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Daltonganj, Gumla, Lohardagga and Simdega will be heard at CBI courts established at Ranchi while the same of other districts will be heard at CBI courts established at Dhanbad. Special vigilance judge Prabhu Tiwari has rejected the anticipatory bail petition of health department clerk Jagannath Prasad Singh. Petitioner is one of the 12 accused persons in a medicine scam involving about Rs 3 crore.
