Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren, heading a JMM-Congress-RJD alliance government, on Friday alleged that BJP MLAs and leaders have been asked by their party not to attend the Sarkar Apke Dwar programmes being held in every panchayat of the state.

Incidentally, the third phase of Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Apke Dwar (linking beneficiaries with welfare schemes and addressing grievances at their doorsteps) began last week and will be held across all the over 4,300 panchayats of the state.

Soren has decided to visit all 24 districts of the state to see the execution of the programme and has so far visited six districts meeting beneficiaries and monitoring if the grievances are being redressed properly.

“A BJP woman MLA met me at the Circuit House on Thursday evening with a list of demands from her constituency. I requested her to make the complaints at the Sarkar Apke Dwar programme so that we can also know if the problems are addressed or not. However, she said that they have been asked by their party to boycott the programme. How strange is it? Is their party not interested in solving the problems of people? Their leaders are not attending the programmes despite being given invitation?” asked Hemant Soren while addressing a rally at Palamu on the sidelines of the Sarkar Apke Dwar programme.

“It is time for the people to realise about the double standards of such party and ensure that such parties (read BJP) are driven out from Jharkhand in the Assembly elections (scheduled in 2024 end) and Lok Sabha polls and form a government which is genuinely interested in solving the problem of tribals, Dalits and marginalised,” said Soren.

Significantly, on Thursday night addressing JMM party workers at Palamu, Soren had said that the newly formed INDIA bloc will win 13 of the 14 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the state.

“We will ensure that there is no division of votes and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), will stand strongly behind the INDIA alliance formed to prevent the division of anti-BJP votes in the parliamentary elections next year. We (INDIA bloc) have started preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. We hope to win 13 of the 14 seats in the state,” Soren had said on Thursday.

In 2019, the BJP-AJSU Party alliance won 12 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
