Call it high tee after health low.

Nearly seven months after his chopper crash-landed in Ranchi, leaving him with serious back injuries, the chief minister was back in the golfing greens of Golmuri on Tuesday morning to putt together his clubbing skills.

Swapping his trademark maroon bundi and white kurta-pyjama for a bright orange sweatshirt, beige trousers and a red cap, Munda was every inch the ace golfer he was before the May 9 mishap.

Bahut maza aa raha hai. Pura fit hain chinta mat kijiye (I am enjoying every moment. I am totally fit, do not worry,” he was overheard telling his corporate friends. The elite list included Tata Steel vice-president Sanjiv Paul, managing director of Eastern Synpacks Limited Ravi Sharma and managing director of Telcon Ranaveer Sinha.

Sinha, who played alongside Munda at the golf course, told The Telegraph later that barring a few refreshment breaks, Munda played non-stop for four hours from 7am.

“It was amazing to see him complete 15 out of the 18 holes at Golmuri course. He did not show any sign of pain during the game,” Sinha said.

An excited Munda even drove the golf cart on some occasions while moving from one hole to another.

Arre itna jaldi break nahi, thoda khelne do. (Do not call breaks so often, allow us to play),” he mildly reprimanded employees at the golf course staffs who rushed with sandwiches and coffee.

Later in the day, Munda also attended the wedding reception of his nephew and Jamshedpur zilla parishad member Ganesh Solanki at Telco.

Among invitees were HRD minister Baidyanath Ram, chief secretary S.K. Choudhary, Tata Steel MD H.M. Nerurkar and several other dignitaries from across the state.
