Quick cash is coming in a brand new avatar in Jamshedpur.

Tata Communications Payment Solutions Limited - a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Communications and one of the fastest growing money transaction specialists in India - has started installing its Indicash ATM kiosks in the steel city, with the first near Tata Main Hospital (TMH).

"Indicash ATMs facilitate services like cash withdrawals, balance enquiry, mini statements and PIN change. These are White Label ATMs, where debit cards and prepaid cards (that permit cash withdrawal) issued by banks in India can be used for five free financial and non-financial transactions every month," said Amresh Sinha, senior manager (corporate communications, Jharkhand-Chhattisgarh), Tata Steel.

The debut ATM in front of the private hospital is expected to become operational in a couple of days. Two more kiosks will come up at Tata Growth Shop in Adityapur and at Jusco in the first phase.

"The service near TMH will benefit people. There are patients who need cash all the time for tests and treatment. At Jusco, too, many come to pay bills and can use Indicash ATMs to withdraw money," said another senior official of Tata Steel.

The first Indicash ATM in India had been launched on June 27, 2013, in Chandrapada, a village in Vasai-Virar, Maharashtra. Three years hence, 15,000 more will come up across the country, a bulk of these in rural areas.

Indicash kiosks accept all domestic bank debit cards. The user-friendly ATMs offer multi-lingual services, including how-to-use guidelines and value-added services.

Cash transactions are limited to Rs 10,000 for the time being. In the future, mobile payment and wallet services may be launched.
