Ranchi, Aug. 14: Twenty-two farmers, one from each district, would be sent to Israel for training to improve their agricultural skill.

The announcement was made by chief minister Arjun Munda, a day after he returned from his foreign trip.

He also assured all possible help to give a boost to agriculture sector in the state.

The chief minister, who was greeted with a volley of criticism from the Opposition as well as his partymen when he returned from his foreign trip, now has to make the right move so as not to worsen the situation.

An Israeli firm made a detailed presentation before the chief minister while he was in London.

A team of experts would soon be coming to Jharkhand to prepare a detailed project report.

The chief minister announced this at the concluding session of the two-day state unit BJP Kisan Morcha?s executive body meeting today.

In his address, he reiterated his commitment to fight for the farmers? cause and elaborated the steps being taken by his government to give a boost to agriculture.

He also assured the gathering to consider the resolutions and demands made by the Kisan Morcha.

Meanwhile, sore over the manner the panchayat elections would be held, Kurmi heavyweight Ram Tahal Choudhary today held a meeting with non-tribal leaders cutting across all parties, to discuss future strategy.

He would again hold a meeting on August 17, with the MLAs and MPs, and on August 18, a state-level conference to finalise the action plan.

The prominent leaders, who participated in today?s meeting, include former minister Lal Chand Mahto, Bhushan Anuj, Raja Ram Mahto and representatives of Sadan Vikas Parishad.

?The MLAs and MPs were not invited today. We will have a separate meeting with them on Wednesday. The way the panchayat elections are likely to be held, is not acceptable to the non-tribals,? said Choudhary, who has launched a tirade against Munda over the panchayat poll issue.

Concerned over the flak the chief minister has been attracting, five Independent members supporting the Munda government would also hold a meeting on Wednesday to review the government?s functioning.

Strategies for the panchayat polls, too, would be worked out in the meeting.

Soon after his return from foreign trip, home minister Sudesh Mahto had criticised the chief minister for appointing parliamentary secretaries and giving deputy chief minister status to Karia Munda.

A majority of the ministers have already announced that they will never let the parliamentary secretaries interfere in the functioning of their departments.
