Dhanbad, Sept. 12: An impostor posing himself as a CBI officer was arrested last evening after he tried to abduct a women from the Vinod Nagar locality under Dhanbad police station.

Ravi Shankar Roy had been running a flourmill in the Vinod Nagar locality for the past few days. He wanted an accommodation in the same building owned by Ram Chandra Singh. But, Singh pleaded helplessness arguing that there was no room.

On Monday Ravi approached Singh again and made him sit in his car. Singh’s wife who was closely watching the on goings rushed to his rescue and ‘freed’ him.

The next day Roy knocked the doors of an Indian Oil mechanic Babu Banerjee. Roy was accompanied by five persons—all in “plain clothes”.

When Banerjee’s wife Suman said that her husband was away, Roy introduced himself as a CBI officer and added that he had come to arrest her for custodial interrogations. He even tried to drag her to the car in which he had come. Neighbours came to her rescue when Suman cried for help. The culprits fled and Roy was later arrested.
