Bhubaneswar, Sept. 22: Dara Singh, who has been sentenced to life for killing Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two sons eight years ago, was today handed out a separate life sentence for killing Roman Catholic priest Arul Doss in Mayurbhanj.
Mayurbhanj district and sessions judge Sachidananda Sahu today handed out the punishment to Dara and three others for shooting down Doss on the night of September 1, 1999, with sharp arrows at Jamboni village of Mayurbhanj district.
Father Doss (35), a native of Tamil Nadu, was the priest of Anandapur Roman Catholic church in Mayurbhanj district.
Seventeen other accused in the case were acquitted by the court due to lack of evidence.
