The Dhanbad kid battling the blues of urban life has found a perfect playmate — a first-of-its-kind club that offers everything from games to grub.
Narayani’s Kidz Play and Activity School is set to launch a club for children — from two-year-olds to 18-year-olds — in Jharudih on June 6. Initially, the club will be open to all.
Spread over 1,000sqm, the kids club will boast a host of facilities for tiny tots and adolescents. Board games like table tennis and billiards, outdoor activities such as lawn tennis, basketball, archery, skating, badminton and volleyball and indoor play things like carrom, chess and computer games — the choice is endless. “We have bought plenty of games and accessories from renowned brands and have not compromised on quality,” said director of Narayani’s Kidz Play and Activity School Suman Jalan.
All gear have come, except the billiards boards.
The centre will also offer training by skilled coaches. A few trainers will be invited from other states.
Yogesh Trivedi of Trivedi ICE and Roller Skating Academy, Calcutta said he would come twice a week to teach the children the basics of skating. “Training in martial arts and yoga will also be imparted among the club members by experts,” Jalan said.
The bookworm will not get bored here either. For, the club has a huge library with more than 1,000 books ranging from comics to motivational ones.
But the best part is that all these will come for a nominal fee of Rs 500 per month.
“We will charge a one-time admission fee of Rs 1,000 and another Rs 1,000 as annual fee. The monthly membership fee has been kept low so that people from all income groups can use the facilities,” said Jalan.
The club has also spared a thought for the parents. “There will be a cafeteria where members can enjoy tea, coffee, cold drinks and small bites. However, they have to pay separately there,” Jalan added.
The centre will be open from 3pm to 8pm on weekdays and from 11am to 8pm on weekends.
