Ranchi, Aug. 8: It is time again for Congress president Sonia Gandhi to say “bon appetit” to chief minister Madhu Koda over dinner with chief ministers of all UPA-ruled states tonight. Koda left for Delhi by a service flight today.
Preparations for East Singhbhum Lok Sabha byelections, distribution of boards, appointment of full-time chief secretary, mud-slinging by UPA partners — especially those belonging to the Congress — are likely to be discussed.
“There is no specific agenda for the meeting. Sonia Gandhi has called chief ministers of all UPA-ruled states for informal talks. If time permits, I will seek her consent for the distribution of boards and corporations among UPA partners. The delay in giving away boards is a major bone of contention among legislators,” said Koda, adding that though he was not scared of “criticism”, he has opted for plain talks. “Those levelling corruption charges against my government are themselves giving bribes. I am getting Ragini Minz’s case probed through different sources, even though no formal complaint has been made before me. Necessary action will be taken,” he said.
Pointing out other positives, Koda said for the first time, teachers and employees of private “recognised” minority schools have been granted central pay scale. Thousands of appointment letters under NREGA and ICDS schemes would be distributed on August 15.
“Being the chief minister, I can neither discuss everything publicly nor always keep highlighting my own achievements,” said Koda, adding that his party would win the Jamshedpur bypolls by a record margin.
